Our Avocados

The Super Fruit

The Perfect Avocado for Import & Export

Avocados with an oil content between 9-11% (or 23% dry matter) tend to have better post-harvest longevity compared to fruit harvested later, with a higher oil content of 13-14% (or 30-33% dry matter), provided they come from well-managed and balanced orchards.

Some reasons why we recommend including avocados in your diet are:

Rich in Oleic Acid – A monounsaturated fat considered healthy.

Supports Heart Health – Helps reduce cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and improve cardiovascular function.

High in Lutein – An antioxidant beneficial for eye health. Lutein consumption reduces the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration, common in aging.

Since our body does not naturally produce lutein, it is essential to obtain it through diet.

Enhances Nutrient Absorption – Some nutrients, such as carotenoid antioxidants found in many plant-based foods, require fat for proper absorption.

Since most carotenoid-rich fruits and vegetables are low in fat, avocados provide the necessary support.

Helps Reduce Arthritis Symptoms – Its anti-inflammatory properties may ease joint discomfort.

May Prevent Gum Disease – Contributes to better oral health.

Improves Skin and Wound Healing – Supports skin regeneration and recovery.

Neutralizes Free Radicals – Helps prevent type 2 diabetes and heart disease by reducing oxidative stress.

Chilean Avocado

Grown in fertile lands at the foothills of the Andes, Chilean avocados are irrigated with meltwater from the mountains. Water and fertilizers are primarily delivered to plantations through drip and micro-sprinkler irrigation. Avocado production in Chile is one of the most technologically advanced in terms of irrigation, ensuring efficient cultivation while maintaining a responsible use of natural resources. The primary production area for this fruit is located in the country's central region, known as the Fifth Region.

Situated on the western coast of South America, Chile is the longest and narrowest country in the world, stretching 4,300 kilometers (2,600 miles) in length and just 180 kilometers (a little over 100 miles) in width. Its natural borders—a desert, the Pacific Ocean, and the Andes Mountains—create a phytosanitary island with very low incidence of agricultural pests. As a result, Chilean farmers require far fewer pesticides compared to other regions worldwide.

Chilean producers take pride in leading the industry in the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) at every stage of the process, from planting and harvesting to storage and shipping, ensuring the highest industry standards. Chilean Hass avocados hold international GAP certification, representing the highest level of approval worldwide. Additionally, Chilean producers are at the forefront of sustainability, pioneering the use of battery-operated equipment such as tractors and forklifts, promoting more efficient and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
